GAMBLING? IT'S A FAMILY BUSINESS, MONTHLY PAYMENTS!!!!
Let’s go over some ASSURANCES ! Some “family” don’t care about cash flow, but to each his own
purposes in life. All don’t want cash investment back, who are we to judge! “But if you want yours back
….There are things you can do ……understand these issues & follow the plan to assure some success!
1. The “Family” is everything! “Who you buy from is as important as what you buy”!
A. If there comes a problem - you want someone “big” behind you.
We are big in several ways, our size, our farm size and experience.
B. You want to make sure “the mentor ” answers their phone and has
Access to other means of communication and can be discreet.
We can do that for our family!
C. For us: “ When YOU have a problem, WE have a problem. “
D. Learn from all of OUR mistakes, which we will share with you
& your mistakes in all aspects. No sense “reinventing the wheel”
If we can help you start better than we did, we should help you.
E. The seller must have at a minimum of a replacement animal for
you of equal value or better quality if something goes wrong.
Life happens, and you have “family backup” here. Most goes
smooth, but through every path in life, a few puddles…
F. Its all about trust and reputation - “doing the right thing for your
Family. It does not hurt to check some references, to try to know
“Who you are dealing with”.
2. The “Family” is everything! Even in alpacas good purchases, ideas
and trainings are solid to your success. Take our advice -
A. Buy females first, even with poor education multiplication can be
understood. Some of us had to “quit school and work young”!
Strong “dames,” I mean “dams” produce great healthy smart
offspring. Its not all in the size of the hips anymore like the old
Days, but solid reproduction is very important to some!
Pick “dams” that have good lineage, qualities, and are milk
producers on their own. The less you have to do-the better!
From a business point of view -
“Sometimes experience in a female is a good thing
Nothing wrong with knowing what to do, and when to do it,
is there? “ And God knows 2 weeks after a cria she is interested!
B. Don’t buy males now - As you get a free breeding and/or
rebreeding, from us! (Now if you have several females this could
be a different story! Or want to co-own a male? That could be
different again.
However, if the Family has an abundance of males with the same
bloodlines and offer you a deal & you have the room -
“what can I say, “Go ahead & be greedy! It is not a sin if a “Wild
Card” is dealt to you. The sin is in letting it sit in your hand if
someone quits playing right? ”!
Be sure to look the male over well! If you have a few females,
you may get more visitors with a few more animals. People like
The smaller farms.
As “our Family” you will receive ½ price breedings thereafter.
We will try to cover you with selling our males to investors that
might honor that promise to you! Thus saving you the bucks now
And in your future. Once in the family ….always in the family.
(l) We believe if same bloodlines - we don’t breed them.
But this is how they got some beautiful “accoyos”.
We, just can’t have the Father, brothers, and grand papa figures
interested in their bambino. We find it distasteful & probably
unhealthy, especially repeated. They may lack vigor!
Easier to sell if not inbred, but sometimes we let “history be
history.” Sometimes the “past should be forgotten, if it all
ended well.” Only brought up in disclosures if the bambino
is to be sold along with any other issues. This is a protection
for all. If all “know the truth” and are happy, who are we
to disagree? That is the “good of disclosure”, no?
Never lie to your Family, tell the truth at the beginning and
“ask for forgiveness & understanding”. One less thing for
to have to confess later.
(2) Use males of great lineage, color, and quality. Hopefully, you
realize the Badboys have these and look to see what they have
produced. It is “ok to check out the merchandise”! Offers are
good, and negotiations can be healthy and advantageous for us
both.
C. Spend your “hard earned stash” on alpacas that are born and raised
here. They like their location and have adjusted to it, have good
health! Be smart for your animals, lets pretend they are your
Mother - In- law: “if you want to please your Mother in law, you
do not bring her here in June - September?
On the other hand if you want fewer visits, transport her then!
The true family knows the animal, knows the history. If the
animal just arrived, how do you know how it is doing and did in its
past?
Griffonwood guarantees:
If its in poor health - “then it ain’t on the sales list!
If he or she can not produce and we know it - “it ain’t on the list!
If it just arrived here - “it ain’t on the list!”
WHY MAKE ENEMIES ? Paybacks are hell, and it is hot
enough here! Life can be good by trying to be honest with your
people.
If it is high priced - “we don’t care if we sell it!” But it is in
“the offer and times,” that might make that a possible purchase
for you! Some of life if “priceless”. And sometimes you get that
“feeling about someone and it makes the difference”.
D. The Family wants you to succeed. “How can you do that if you
keep your business a secret ?“ or get people to see what you
Have in your alpacas with no visiting.
(l) Get going on business cards and fliers in your area.
Many sellers make you think “you don’t have enough to sell”!
The Family says “once in the business
YOU ARE IN THE BUSINESS! Time is short, don’t waste it.
(2) If you can buy a few girls and guys come with it - start getting
your name out there! Have some open houses, attend the
Family Meetings and pay your dues for the “associations” and
let them list your name.
Get at least a small website going with a catchy name and logo.
(3) Learning how to care for your “extended family” is important.
Of course, we have hands-on trainings for you!
E. Your “alpaca family and investment” is an insured investment
and can be financed through us “your new family”. It is “not
Like the old protection business with monthly payments to be
safe.”
But insurance is your Legal Protection and you will love the legal
monthly payments, while the animal is still in your name. And
Of course sometimes we barter. We may need a new roof!?
(1) When you start your business you must have insurance on
your animals. As time goes on you “will pick and choose”
who you cover!
(2) In the old days, we never insured cars used in bootlegging
Now only our top herdsires in the male lines are insured.
Why would we insure baby boys if not fantastic quality as
only 10% become herdsires. Save your money.
(3) Now make sure if you sell an animal that the new owners
have coverage for the loan to you! Clear title comes only
with payoff.
F. Pay your accountant and your vet on time.
Why? They both protect your investment.
Why? They work for you and know what they are doing!
Your accountant knows of sections 179, green belting, tax write
offs and depreciation on animals purchased, boarding, and your
business costs. No, I am not an accountant! He is also a
Tax write off………
Your vet comes when you need him! It is not often so you pay
him on time, and with a good Family mentor you will not need
him as much. No, I am not a vet, but have some good
experience over the many years. He is also a Tax write off!
They can “both cover your dupa”.
Use good sale contracts protecting each partner! The more
things are understood the less problems between you!
Other factual assurances for you to know, plan for & use daily
HONEST ANSWERS ……………………………….......
Your visitors says:
“ I have no land.”
“No land no problem” as half of the people who buy have no
land! They buy, multiply, have tax breaks, and board them and
write them off.
“I don’t have that much money.”
“No problem, make your down payment and I finance them;
Monthly payments are writes offs! Most people clearly love
Tax breaks. Clear title on last payment.
“Who buys alpacas?”
“ All kinds of people for all kinds of reasons, but mostly they are
“professionals”, (not the gunslingers), college, computers, real
estate, doctors, nurses, teachers, health care people, investors, and
animal lovers. Some people buy for the fiber or just for a pet!
Lots of people who buy a few, come back within the year and buy
More ……WHY? Because they love the alpacas and the business!
Monthly payments from people with a contract?
“Very little problem over the 8.5 years of business, as most people
are over 45 years of age and know responsibilities. They may want
that “lifestyle change”. We did!
The FAMILY BUSINESS: Ideas for making money legally -
1. Sell some of your pregnant moms and/or babies as you start
reproducing. Board animals for others with no land.
(paying monthly for a mother, and selling her baby to pay her
off leaves the mother for making profits or if you are doing
fine with the payments, keep the mother and daughter! )
2. If you have proven males, you may make breeding monies
which give you some extra income.
3. You might become a feed or hay distributor or deliverer.
4. Advertise with spinners guilds at shearing time, sell your fiber.
Do spinning lessons, provide good products, sell spinning
wheels. Do fecal studies.
5. Raise guard dogs, llamas, or minerature donkies to supple-
ment your income and visitors.
6. Do website work, or accounting if you know how part time.
7. Do part time transporting, or hire out to vacation sit for other
Owners, or show their animals for them at shows.
8. Make signs, fliers, crafts, photos, or help other on “herd health
days. The sky is the limit. Some owners are true craftsman!
An additional way of bringing in some cash - send visitors to
Griffonwood Alpacas. If they buy -some cash in your pocket.
The family at Griffonwood appreciates all business and those
that have given business to us and will never forget who that
is! Save money by “never paying full list price on any of our
animals once a customer!
We have heard good news on sales this last quarter even in this
tough economy! And you will love your alpacas! We love
ours, have a passion for it after 8.5 years, have a passion for
The Family involved with all of it.
Gambling, It depends mostly on you! You can start now!
You have the cards dealt out, with a few wild cards on the table.
It is your PLAY NOW - call us and set up your appointment to
See the “gangsters girls” and the Badboys that bred them and
