to have EXPOSURE, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION, with alpacas! To aid you in
your financial investing if you want, we are here!
Book a day 8-4pm We would provide lunch $140.00/couple
Book a weekend Fri. after 5 to Sunday 5 pm $400/couple
Book a 5 day, 4 night stay $800.00/ couple or 7 days $1000.
*If you purchase an alpaca minimum $300. off your sale price.

We provide lunch, you have your own kitchen for breakfast, and dinners can be
in or out. Weather permitting pool use. You would have to sign a clause for
liability
release for Griffonwood Alpacas and the Leslie Home.

You could:Just do what you want if just vacationing - but
A flexible itinerary COULD be: Fix your breakfast, arrive at the barn
around 8 a.m. Work on different every day things (feeding, water, poop
pick up “so much fun”, spraying alpacas in summer, cut a few nails,etc.) (
bring old clothes for “hands on training” and no sandals or heels please.)
The alpacas we have found are NOT impressed by how we dress, but about voice
control and respect we give them.
A casual lunch with us! Clean up then topics discussion on different
issues. Alpacas - huacaya qualities vs. suri, scoring, registry (how it
works, what it can tell you, importance of understanding the process),
investment, insurance, you and your vet,gelding vs. herdsire quality, maiden
vs. experienced producers, show quality vs. advantages based on fleece,
pastures, feed, fiber, products, multiplying, co-owning, transportation,
breedings, and how to chose a female or herdsire and how qualities might
make the difference for your success, marketing and farm visits, etc. for
a couple of hours or if still raring to talk, we will supply you with answers
to things you want to talk about. After a few hours of learning you may
want to relax - & if you are motivated, excited and want to talk after
dinner while sitting in the hot tub, so be it!!
If you already have alpacas you are still welcome to stay with us!
You can break off by yourself by the pool, read, relax, music and you may
choose
to check alpacas in the afternoon with Bill. Or grab a blanket and go lay
in a pasture
with a bottle of wine and some crackers, or sit with the weanling's and feed
animals
some grain from your hands. We can make a plan based on what you tell us
your
purpose in coming is., we are person centered. You might read alpaca
magazines or maybe a nice mystery novel to get your minds “off of
alpacas”! We have found that
the quickest way to get some sleep after having “the alpaca urge” is to buy a
couple!
Count alpacas instead of sheep! Alpaca fiber does not itch like wool!
Visit a few farms, finding the people who you trust (checking references), is
as important as bloodlines. Sometimes too many car dealerships and cars
makes you confused on which one has the best mileage, endurance, and
quality! Other issues: Is the person you bought from going to answer their
phone and questions from you. (As one educates themselves, they will have
more questions with more experience!) If after the sale, communication is
gone - YIKES! Remember we all have different pocket books too. One man can
board one on a farm, another wants 6 “to go”! Just like TACOS! Ha
Dinner and the evening are “up to you”. We can tell you where to go for
different restaurants, for a sunset along the coast, or how to get to Disney,
Tampa, Weeki Wachee Mermaid Show, canoing, or a movie if you want! We can
drive you to a small country fiber mill and let you see her processing and
products in our store.
Do you know that if you came to learn and you purchase alpacas this year, you
could write your stay and travel expenses off on your taxes, gas here too,
whether you purchase some from us or not! You may be from Michigan and
want some sunshine in February and attend our Jacksonville Alpaca show and
stay a week in the sun at our place.
Co-owning opportunities on our males with us from anywhere up north might
allow you tax breaks for visiting your partners in Florida each year besides
the benefits of owning together. Whether for a day, weekend, or week, we will
help you achieve your end goals. We are sorry, no pets please.
